How to de-stress your sex-life

Do you feel that stress is squeezing the fun out of your bedroom life?

If yes, then you can bring back the action, courtesy tips provided by sex educator and relationship expert Dr. Yvonne Kristin Fulbright. According to the expert, many couples become frustrated, even panicky, when their sex lives go to the wayside during stressful times. When it comes to the factor that governs a person's sex life, it's personality, reports Fox News.

Fulbright says that how an individual's sex life fares depends on whether he tries to get closer to his partner in tragic times or wants to be totally alone and if he's the withdrawing sorts, then it can create misunderstandings in the relationship.

In order to avoid any such misunderstandings and still keep sex life full of fun and passion, Fulbright has suggested that couples need to establish a common ground and mutual understanding during stressful times.

Also, they should make an effort to stay connected during life's highs and lows, because if they don't, it could lead to dire consequences. And in case, sex is not on mind and also the time to be spent in the sack is less, then a person can try the following:

1. Showing appreciation for one another. Giving compliments, for example, is a simple way of expressing affection and letting your partner know that he or she is still being noticed and loved.

2. Talking daily. Chat during dinner or at bedtime. Conversations foster bonding by providing support. It's also important for couples to check in with each other, showing concern and care for one another's well-being with simple statements like, "Tell me about your day."

3. Staying positive . Bite your tongue if you're about to complain. Stressful situations are hard enough to deal with. Don't add to it if you can avoid doing so.

4. Believing in your future together. Stressful times can make lovers doubt their ability to stay together for the long haul. Insecurity issues that arise can only make matters more difficult. Making plans is one way to indicate that you're feeling secure about your future.

5. Helping each other with responsibilities . Approaching tasks with a team effort provides a greater sense of being in 'this' together.

6. Balancing 'alone time' and 'together time.' Create a sensual atmosphere, for example, soothing scents, dim lights, delicious food, and relaxing music to help you unwind.

7. Getting creative in how you'll be intimate . Redefine your definition of sexual intimacy when needed; try a simple body massage.

Not to forget, lovers should make it a point to give in to one another's requests for intimacy whenever possible, as it might just prove to be a big stress-buster. In fact, sex has many physical and emotional benefits, which may help in boosting your desire for more sex and emotional intimacy. Sex can easily take your mind off of your worries.

Also, patience is the key to get your sex life back on track. One should make sure that your relationship, in general, doesn't get neglected.

Sexual demands in a marriage

While you don't mind going an extra mile to please your partner in bed, but often there are certain sexual demands to which you do not give in easily.

Be it male or female partners, everyone has their set of bedroom demands, which, if not satisfied by the other partner can ruin a relationship. Sometimes slightly kinky and not-so-nice sexual demands by your partner are a turn-off as they mar sexual pleasure. It's for the partners to decide how to react to these repeated demands while having sex.

If your mate is unable to meet your sex demands, chances are high that you are going out of their comfort zone and over expecting. Here experts dole out advice on easier ways to control your sex demands so as to enjoy having sex with your partner without much of disagreement...

MEN'S SEXUAL DEMANDS

Instant undressing : Men find it very fascinating to see their girl naked. So mastering the act of undressing is a vital which men will insist on during a quickie. What irks women about this demand is the continuous pressure to undress all at once as most women prefer a long and sensual foreplay.

Meet the demand : Sex therapist Dr. Ratan Mehrotra suggests, "Men need to be a little more calm and patient and let women enter a comfort zone where they can undress sans any inhibitions. Expecting your mate to strip at once isn't as simple as it may sound, so give her space, make her feel at ease and make it an enjoyable act. Maybe your lady is feeling shy; so turn off the lights and then tell her softly about your desire of getting a glimpse of her body."

Wicked & Wild : It's official that men are more sexually aggressive and they often expect their female partner to behave in a similar manner. While asking your babe to get adventurous, remember that your lady love may feel like you are behaving like a wild animal in bed.
Meet the demand : Mumbai-based sexologist Dr. Amit Agarwal states, "Demanding that your woman acts wild and wicked in bed as you expect them to be is unfair. Your female partner can't step into a porn star's shoes and perform wild sex moves. Try and let her do what she enjoys doing in bed instead of forcing her to do things which you want. Once she is open to trying out newer sex positions, try asking her if she wants to opt for wilder moves."

Oral pleasure : Oral pleasure can be enjoyed only when both partners give mutual consent. And quite often, it's an imposed act on the female partner, because not all women are happy with the idea of going down to please their men.

Meet the demand : Sexologist Dr. Pushkar Gupta opines, "When it comes to intimate moments, nothing should be forced. Rather each act should be an expression of love. In case of oral sex, it's true that men are more eager to receive oral pleasure and women often are reluctant mainly due to hygiene issues. Men must let the woman realise that this is equally a part of their physical intimacy and he is not forcing oral sex on her. Once a woman starts taking pleasure in the act, just wait for an initiative from her side rather that asking her to indulge in an oral act every time you get intimate."

WOMEN'S SEXUAL DEMANDS

Multiple orgasms : Most women complain that their male partners fail to give them the ultimate Big 'O'. Thus, they start over expecting from their man and hold them responsible for perhaps failing to reach a gratifying orgasm. Men on the other hand, find it disgusting when their female partner concentrates more on her orgasm, being least bothered about his enjoyment.

Meet the demand : Dr. Agarwal explains, "Women must not act aggressive if they are not getting an easy orgasm from their male partner. There might be several reasons behind this, so instead of showing your anger and making it look like an obligation for your better half, try enjoying the act to the fullest. And once you stop posing a demand for a gratifying climax, you will not only perform the act in a better way, but the enjoyment level would soar too."

Slow and steady moves : Women are no less ravenous when it comes to sex, but they do define their limits when it comes to performing. They prefer a man who is not too wild in his sexual behaviour. The reason why men find it tough to give in to this demand is because they indulge in sex to enjoy and get pleasure, whereas women seek more of intimacy, cuddling, snuggling, which might not sound stimulating enough for a man.

Meet the demand : Dr. Mehrotra shares, "Expecting men to perform in bed as per your terms and conditions will kill sexual passion and lead to troubles in your sexual life. Though it doesn't mean that you start accepting whatever your partner does in bed, but being too rigid and expecting them to perform slowly always is a bad move. Women need to understand that men harbour certain sexual desires and if you start imposing your viewpoint on them, it would lead nowhere. If their acts are uncomfortable, let them know about what turns you on and build a relationship based on mutual understanding."

Using protection : Treating sex like a duty or responsibility that has to be played out every night is not a healthy practice. Women, in general, insist a lot on using contraception and men aren't too keen about it as it reduces their pleasure quotient. Also, the demand of using protection during every sex session is mostly driven by women's pregnancy fears.

Meet the demand : Dr. Gupta suggests, "If you are too firm that your partner use protection during sex, explain this to him with logical reasons so that he can understand your mind space. Putting it as a demand will only make them furious; they might even refuse to perform. So follow a proper way to have your demands fulfilled by your partner, as forcing won't help whatsoever. Moreover, there are other methods of daily contraception like oral pills, which can be easily resorted to. It's important to build mutual understanding in this regard."

Meet the man who goes temporarily blind every time he has sex

A man, whose identity could not be revealed, was forced to seek medical help after temporarily losing his sight every time he had sex.

As per the NCBI ROFL blog, the patient would go blind immediately after the ejaculation but the blindness would never occur while performing any other strenuous exercise.

The report revealed the cause of the condition to be vasoconstriction, where the muscle walls contract around a blood vessel, restricting the flow of blood.

Vasoconstriction is the same condition that causes erectile dysfunction.

Doctors had earlier speculated that an embolism was causing the man's blindness.

"Hypothetical mechanisms of transient monocular visual loss in our patient include vasoconstriction or embolism in the arterial blood supply of the eye. The repeated and completely transient nature of our patient's symptoms supports the fact that embolism was not involved," the Daily Mail quoted the report as saying.

The original report was published by the Department of Ophthalmology at Glostrup Hospital, University of Copenhagen.

Sex-guide According To Your Age

Our sexual behavior varies at different times in our lives. Sex guru Tracey Cox in her bestselling book, 'Sextasy' reveals the sexual urges and traits of lovers according to their age...

20-something
Most guys just can't stop dreaming about sex every couple of hours. At this age, girls are usually rebellious in their sexual imaginations. They share same-sex fantasies or want to try out bi-sexuality. A 2006 study of nearly 2000 people discovered that 76 per cent of women who slept with women reached orgasm (for women with men, the figure stands at 50 per cent).
The 20s are the time when young boys and girls are most experimental in their sexual positions. One in 10 people claims Tracey Cox have had a threesome in their early twenties.

Also, people in this age group have most likely visited a strip joint or a lap dancing club - with their friends or their better half.

30 something
The 30s are a time to experiment, almost all 30-somethings claim to have had sex outdoors. Unlike the teens when making out was the most common form of sexual experimentation, most 30 somethings prefer having sex somewhere semi-public like the beach, in the garden or on a park bench in the darkness. There's something wildly erotic about these sexapades! Also, high on the 30 something popularity chart are having sex in the shower or in the bath tub.

Kinky pleasures also rate high as most 30 plus couples claim to be giving in to their fantasies of bondage, blindfolds and spanking on a weekend of debauchery.
This is also the time when women are most likely to befriend gay male pals. Straight women love gay men; gay men love straight women. Swedish research is confirming just why the two groups get along so famously - they both have symmetrical brains. Straight men and lesbians have asymmetrical brain hemispheres.

The 30s also mark the arrival of children in a married couple's life, so the sex drive naturally dwindles. But, Cox points out that during pregnancy, couples have sex four to five times a month. Most put the brakes on their sex lives for about seven weeks after delivery, but four months later are back to four or five times of sex a month. Cox says six months after delivery, the average couple goes back to having sex three to five times a month. But incase you don't fit the bill, remember getting disheartened ain't gonna help. Remember it's just a temporary period, so continue touching and cuddling and if your baby robs you of chances to have sex, indulge in quickies.

Most women says Cox in her book experience higher orgasm rates. Ninety per cent of women past 30 regularly experience orgasm, compared to just 23 per cent of younger women.
40 something
Men in their 40s are more likely to experience erection problems. Also, this is the age when maximum number of men tend to be unfaithful. Also, men are more compelled in their 40s to watch more porn or indulge in sex chats. Women on the other hand get sexually very demanding, often being attracted to younger men.

If you thought the 40s were about low libido, think again, while 40-somethings maybe having less sex than ever, the thrust has shifted from how many times in a week to an emphasis on better quality. You are more sure of your sexual needs in this age group and thus more likely to insist on passion play as opposed to a mere making out session.

science story related sex

point to remember:

1.The pursuit of pleasure: Men between 20s and 30s and especially those who masturbate frequently are at higher risk for prostate cancer, researchers atthe University of Nottingham claim.

2. Pulling out works: Withdrawal has been found to be “almost as effective as the male condom” when it comes to pregnancy prevention, a paper published in the June issue of Conception magazine noted.

3. Child’s play: An Iowa State University study has found that 25 percent of children, between 11 and 16, in low-income households reported having sex. The average age of first intercourse for that group was 12.77.

4. Growing pains: Penis extenders may be useful in increasing flaccid members’ length by almost one inch, a study from the University of Turin suggests.

5.Sex smells: A study in The Journal of Neuroscience claims that man’s sweat smells different when he’s sexually aroused.

6. Pill popping: Birth-control pills are occasionally promoted as a medicine for acne and PMS. The Federal Drug Administration had mandated that Bayer, the manufacturer of Yaz birth-control pills, change their commercials, which made similar suggestions.

7. This is a test: In order to be on the safer side against cervical cancer women should wait until age 21 to get their first Pap smear, get a check-up done every three years, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists have advised.

8. Not yet: Women who hold out on sex are acting on a biological impulse to find more suitable providers, while men are waiting to prove that they’re up to the challenge, research published in the Journal of Theoretical Biology reads.

9. Role reversal: Men apparently feel guiltier following sexual infidelity, while women feel worse after an emotional transgression.

Researcher Maryanne Fisher, a professor at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Canada, said: “If an individual assumes that everyone, regardless of their sex, is most concerned with the same form of infidelity that they themselves are most concerned about, this person would consequently make false inferences leading to feelings of guilt.” (ANI)
