‘Paa’ brings the 3rd National Award for Amiatbh Bachchan

The 57 National Film Awards brought a bit of disappointment for Bollywood as the Malayalam film ‘Kutty Srank’ bagged in the Best Film Award.

However, the Bachchan family seemed to enjoy the moment as Big B won the third national award, this time for his performance in R Balki’s ‘Paa’. Paa also won the Best Make Up, Best Hindi Film awards and the Best Supporting Actress award for Arundhati Nag.

Amitabh Bachchan's best wishes for Salman Khan's Dabangg: It’s no secret that mega star Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan bond well. The two have worked together in Baghban, Babul and God Tussi Great Ho. So it was no surprise when Big B wished Salman good luck for his film Dabangg .

The Big B tweeted, “Salman ! All good wishes for 'Dabangg' - promos and song 'Munni ..' fantastic !!”

The ‘Munni’ song has Salman shaking his leg with brother Arbaaz Khan’s wife Malaika Arora.

However, Salman didn’t reply Big B’s tweet because he does not follow anybody except his sister Arpita, brother Arbaaz and co-star Sonakshi Sinha.

‘Dabangg’ is expected to have a mammoth opening at the box office due to the long weekend which begins with Eid .

Ranbir Kapoor have the quality to become a next Amitabh?

Will Ranbir be the next Amitabh Bachchan??

Now, this is something anyone would think twice before proclaiming but Director Siddharth Anand whose next film Anjaana Anjaani stars Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra says Ranbir has all it takes to be the next Amitabh Bachchan of Bollywood, after working with Ranbir Kapoor in two films.

“He (Ranbir) has got everything it takes to be the complete Hindi film hero that Bachchan was,” Anand is quoted as saying by a news agency.

According to Anand, Ranbir does one action film well and that is it! he is sure to become the next Bachchan.

“The day Ranbir does an action film and does it well, he has the potential to fill the void that Bachchan created,”

The two had earlier worked together in Yashraj production Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Siddharth adds, “Ranbir is the perfect guy to play Anthony, he can play coolie, he can play the characters Bachchan played in his prime. There is no one else but him,” .

Priyanka Chopra chosen to be National Ambassador of UNICEF

You all know that Priyanka Chopra does not needs any introduction. She is one of the rare combination of beauty with brains. Well, that's the reason why this beauty queen has been chosen as the National Ambassador of UNICEF, to promote the cause that really requires major attention in these times: promoting child rights and adolescence.

From hosting the latest season of the dare-devil television reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, to being an ambassador for child rights, Priyanka Chopra is a woman who the former Miss World and Bollywood actress.

With this association, Priyanka joins the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore, who too have been actively involved in supporting UNICEF's work for children in India and around the world.

Speaking about her involvement, Priyanka said “I am very honoured to formalise my association with UNICEF as their National Ambassador to help bring awareness for Child Rights and adolescence,” the signing ceremony in Delhi on 10^th August, 2010. “Over the past few years, I have worked very closely with the team at UNICEF to bring awareness to a number of causes related to India’s young and I realised that there is so much more to be done. I hope that by lending my voice I can make a difference to their lives.”

Amitabh Bachchan will play the father of legendary king Shivaji

Gulshan Grover is all set to play antagonist Adil Shah in renowned Marathi filmmaker Vinay Apte’s film based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

And if things go according to Vinay’s plans, Amitabh Bachchan will play Shahaji Bhonsle, the father of the legendary King, Shivaji. As it is known, the hunt for a newcomer to play Shivaji Maharaj is on. But unlike how the King has been portrayed till today, in Vinay’s film, the great Maratha warrior will be a 6-pack, bare-chested, all muscular man.

3 Idiots get 14 nominations (best film) at IIFA.

3 Idiots get maximum number(14) of nominations at the 2010 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) and marked its presence in all categories except best supporting actress. It has received 14nominations including best film, best actor, best director and best actress, among others.

The film directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
