Nicole Faria: First Indian to Bag Miss Earth

In the first of its sorts, an Indian has bagged the Miss India Earth title. And the winner is none other than Nicole Faria who bagged the 2010 Miss Earth crown. The 10th edition of the Miss Earth beauty pageant was held in Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang, Vietnam on December 4, 2010.

Miss Puerto Rico Yeidy Bosquez was announced Miss Earth Fire and Miss Ecuador Jennifer Pazmino won the Miss Earth Air title. Miss Thailand Watsaporn Wattanakoon grabbed the Miss Earth Water crown.

Nicole also won the 2010 Miss Earth Talent Competition. The 20-year-old winner from Bangalore, won the title with a belly dance that combines Oriental and Middle Eastern style.

Talking about her 2010 Miss Earth title designer Nida Mehmood has mentioned to IANS "It's a proud moment for India. It's a very good thing that Indians are making a mark and an Indian woman who is both beautiful and intelligent has won such a pageant."

Talking about Nicole, Miss India World 2010, Manasvi Mamgai said, "I feel very happy for her. This is the only title India has won this year, so it's great. Nicole has got the looks, so we all had expectations that she would win."

During an interview, Nicole said, "I want to make friends and enjoy my time in Vietnam. It's not about winning or losing, but how you play the game." She has played her game right indeed! She was also one of the models who was short-listed to walk the ramp during Lakme Fashion Week in a model-hunt organised by Lakme last year.

Faria has also shot for fashion magazines like Elle, Cosmopolitan, Vogue and others. She was also spotted walking the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week, Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, and Colombo Fashion Week.

Mugdha Godse (born 26 July 1985) an Indian model-turned Bollywood actress who was the runner up in the Femina Miss India 2004 competition. She made her Bollywood debut in Madhur Bhandarkar's 2008 film Fashion. Has been lucky in carrier, she has experimented with different genres and worked with leading stars and directors in Fashion.

And now the sexy actress wants to try her luck in the spirit world. People are going to literally call out for ‘Help’ says Mugdha who is starring with Bobby Deol in a horror film by that name which releases today, Friday the 13th August , 2010

“There have been many scary films though none of them managed to spook people out, but I’m confident that I will do what others couldn’t in Help,” says the actress who’s plays a possessed character in the film. “Those who have seen Help have said that I’m not just a good-looking ghost, I scare people too,” adds Mugdha.

She believes that ghosts do exist. “I’ve not had any encounters with them yet, neither do I want to... I’m a big fattu, but I know that they are around. During the film’s promotion, I was needed to go to spooky places but I chickened out... what if I really got possessed,” asks the actress.

Mugdha’s ghostly act is yet to be seen but her white bikini picture for the film did grab eyeballs. “I didn’t know that the bikini is still a novelty for people. I didn’t bat an eyelid before wearing it. Thankfully, I have a readymade bikini body and don’t have to slog it out at the last moment to look perfect,” say Mugdhas .

There were also a rumours according to a source that she’s done a hot kissing scene with Bobby. “There are some nice romantic scenes between us but no kissing scene. Bobby is a good friend and a fantastic actor. But then I make friends with all my co-stars,” says the friendly star.
