The upcoming 2011 Bollywood movie is an edgy dramatic thriller which races through the bylanes, beach shacks, raves of Goa and the sensuous physique of Deepika Padukone and the pumping remix of Zeenat Amman’s ‘Dum Maro Dum’ remix. Populated with unforgettable characters, punctuated with a soundtrack that moves from haunting Konkani songs to pulsating dance music and shot right in the midst of the teeming international tourist hotspots.
The original number ''Dum Maaro Dum'', picturised on Zeenat Aman, was brilliant, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan said today.
Abhishek is playing a lead role in Rohan Sippy''s film, ''Dum Maaro Dum'', which will release on April 22.
"Zeenat Aunt was brilliant in her performance in the Dev Anand-starrer ''Hare Ram Hare Krishna'' some 40 years back," said the Bachchan junior, who is here to promote the new film.
"It is a classic", he added.
Flanked by Bipasha Basu and Rohan Sippy, Bachchan said they picked Nagpur for promotion of the film as the city is in the heart of the country, and a World Cup match between India and South Africa was a great occasion to launch the title track of the film.
Abhishek said the film was based on drug-abuse, set in Goa.
Sippy denied that there was any controversy over using the words Dum Maaro Dum for his film''s name.
"My grandfather had his first film with Dev Sahab. We had sought rights of lyrics from him and (music company) Sa Re Ga Ma," he added.
