Aisha—Movie Review
Aisha—Movie Review : Anil Kapoor’s home production “Aisha” has hit theatres worldwide today, the 6th of Aug, 2010. This is Rhea Kapoor’s debut as a producer. The film is based on Jane Austen’s novel “Emma”.
After a much talked about debut, Sonam Kapoor has not been able to establish herself in the industry yet. This time round, papa Anil Kapoor has taken up the onus to do so for his baby girl.
Aisha’s story is an adaptation of Emma, a novel by British author Jane Austen who is well known for women centric themes filled with intelligent humor.
Other characters include Arjun (Abhay Deol), a childhood friend, perfect Jane Austen leading man in every sense complete with a Wharton degree and a cushy job; Pinky Bose (Ira), Aisha’s best friend whom she tries to set up obviously and then there are a few more who fill in as the story moves forward. It is the story of Aisha’s journey from being a girl to a woman who realizes that in pursuit of fixing everyone up, she might just lose her perfect match.
